City directories contain a wealth of information for genealogists, researchers, and everyday history enthusiasts. These books tell a great deal about our past by including the names and information about residents as well as businesses in Indianapolis through the years. Inside you'll find addresses and occupations of householders, complete business directories, and much more. This collection consists of 14 Indianapolis city directories ranging from 1858-1980. These large directories are broken down into parts for ease of viewing and reduced search time. However, please be patient with the system when executing a query.
