Leaders receive recognition
The Human Relations Depart¬ ment of the Indianapolis Public Schools proclaimed Thursday, May 6 Principals' Recognition Day.
"This day was set aside to honor all elementary and secondary principals for their concerted ef¬ fort, dedication and capable leadership in educating children. Recognition and praise for this dedicated group of men and women are often overlooked, and we ^ould like to change that tradi¬ tion," commented Terry Ogle, Assistant to the Superintendent for Human Relations.
There was a reception for all the principals in the Board Room from 3:00-5:00 p.m. At that time Superintendent Dr. Karl Kalp and Mayor William Hudnut made Principals' Recognition Day of¬ ficial.
Here at Attucks a breakfast in the Teachers' Lounge at 7:30 a.m. the Human Relations Office added to the celebration. Plaques were presented to Principal Earl Donalson and Vice-principals Arwilda Burton and Kenneth Eiler during an auditorium ses¬ sion.
