Annual Meeting to host Queen Victoria
Look What They've Done to the
Queen is the provocative title of the
program that will highlight HLFIs
Annual Meeting and Membership Dinner
on the evening of April 20 in The
Commons of Park Tudor School in
Indianapolis.
Joan Wells of Philadelphia,
executive director of The Victorian
Society in America, will present an
illustrated talk on the resurgence of
interest in Victorian decorative arts
and how these reminders of Queen
Victoria's reign are influencing current
trends.
Ms. Wells graciously consented to
speak to members of HLFI and their guests
in conjunction with her visit to
Indianapolis for the workshop, Upstairs
<£ Downstairs in the Victorian House,
which will take place the following day.
Members attending last year's
meeting received the social hour and
dinner preceding the event with such
enthusiasm that the same format will
be followed this year. The reception
will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by
dinner at 6:45. The Annual Meeting
will begin at 8:00 with the election
of officers and directors. J. Reid
Williamson, Jr., executive director of
HLFI will deliver a slide presentation
reviewing the activities of the past
year. Presentation of the 4th annual
Sandi Servaas Memorial Award for
innovative public awareness programs
in historic preservation will precede
the program, Look What They've Done
to the Queen.
