Memorial for Statehood - 1815 To the Honorable the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States in Congress Assembled.-- The Memorial of the Legislative Council and the House of Representatives, of the Indiana Territory, Assembled at the town of Corydon, in the Year eighteen hundred and fifteen, in behalf of their constituents, respectfully Sheweth.- That Whereas the ordinance of congress, for the Government, of this Territory, has provided, "That whenever there shall be sixty thousand free inhabitants therein, this Territory shall be admitted into the Union, on an equal footing with the original States."
