Peace
Negotiators

A
Chara,
I
presume Ms Mary Lou McDonald was negotiating on behalf
of Sinn Féin and the people that Sinn Féin
represents, ie the people of Ireland.

Firstly,
welcome back to the Letters page.
Adams
would contend that Mary Mac Donald was negotiating
'peace' on behalf of the PSF electorate. Tony Blair
at the GFA talks represented the Sovereign constituency
of the British people, the Sovereign constituency
of the Irish people was not represented. Indeed Irish
sovereignty was forfeited by the Irish participants
as a precondition to entry. To the British PSF represents
a sectional interest within its sovereign realm arguing
for better treatment from those whom they agreed where
their lawful government. With negotiators like that
who needs.....etc, etc.
