To
the Blanket,
I have read The Blanket since its inception,
and I uphold and agree with
dissent as a right of free people. While I do not
always agree with the
views expressed in your publication, I enjoy reading
it, and I find many
worthwhile articles in it. However, when I read Ruth
Dudley Edwards' book
review just now, I found it hard to believe it
was being offered in any kind
of a republican vehicle at all. It would seem to be
more at home on a
loyalist website. One can despise and find fault continually
with Gerry
Adams without resorting to smearing Catholic nationalists
and their wholly
justified desire and efforts for freedom. I am more
than a little surprised
to see the views expressed in this review so prominently
displayed in The Blanket. I am also disappointed.
