The Blanket

The Global Village

Malcolm G. Ratcliffe

I agree with Sean O Lubaigh's position that a united front for national, economic and social freedom is the place to start for N. Ireland, but without outside investment from the very multinational companies he loathes, where will the money come from for economic reforms? Winning the 'pools' is a pipe dream at best. And, last I checked, no one is knocking down N. Ireland's door trying to get in. If you want your cake, and you want to eat it too, someone has to go to work to pay for it. Companies that offer profit sharing to their employees would be the most desirable of employers, multinational, or not. We are entering the days of the Global Village, get used to it.
